Welcome to the P-Wave Press blog!

This is the first entry in our new blog to tell you all about what's going on at P-Wave Press and what's coming up in the near future.

We've had lots of exciting developments over the past few months, including the publication in May of the all-new edition of the slow-burn psychological thriller Escape, by L.A. Davenport, entitled The Hunter Cut.

The BookLife Prize described it as a "powerful psychological thriller with well realized characters and a gripping plot", and said that Escape, The Hunter Cut, is an "absorbing and enthralling read."

During a very successful blog tour, Emma Fitzgerald said it is an “entertaining story that will keep you gripped to the end…I could not put it down." The story, she went on, "made me feel I was in the Mediterranean with John…If you like crime mystery this book is for you."

There were many more wonderful reviews of this enthralling book, and you can learn more here.

A prize-winning tail

In other news, we were delighted to find out that More Life as a Dog, the follow-up to L.A. Davenport's memoir, My Life as a Dog, of his time with his black and tan dachshund Kevin, was a finalist in the Animals / Pets category of the 2024 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

We could not be happier for this book, which has been described as "heart-warming…very touching [and] a short, beautiful read."

The meaning of Deathcast

In his latest column, author L.A. Davenport has discussed the inspiration behind his dystopian novella Deathcast, and the meaning of the title.

The story, which forms part of the collection No Way Home, hinges on the pernicious idea of people who pursue health and wellness are 'good' while those who engage in poor habits such as smoking and eating sugary, processed foods are 'bad,' and then imagines a future world in which that notion is taken to a dangerous and lethal extreme.

As L.A. Davenport discusses, the idea of a 'Deathcast' is to take this future society's means of automatically terminating transgressive individuals and turn it on someone else.

Finally, there is a lot going on in the background here at P-Wave Press, which we are excited to tell you about soon. In the meantime, take care and have a good week.
